AUGUST 2025 ASTROLOGY NEWSLETTER
Once upon a planet, a telescope borrowed from James Webb unrolled itself to check in on its stellar neighbors and get a good sense of their intentions. Will they be docile, helpful, cranky or maybe a bit deranged? Did too many meteor showers or tsunamis on July’s last 3 days wreck their Starlink communication with one another? Just call Elon. Meanwhile, those starstuff infused humans on planet earth are going to see what this month of August may have in store for them, for us.
While ruminating over the angles, degrees and aspects for Leo’s month, I circled the days around full moon of the 9th and new moon of the 23d, as those solar and lunar events carry significant weight. Specific historical parallels and certain charts will be mentioned as we negotiate our way through another not very calm first three weeks of month with four planets in retrograde. Armagedda will also include a few of the brighter days of summer. It’s not all a wash in spite of those rampant water episodes we’ve seen lately. Just in case, bring your rash guards or wet suit. Unlocking the gate now, and it’s into the lion’s den we shall go.
THOUGHTS ON THIS CYCLE
August 1 – 7th The sky calendar’s first 2 days of August appears somewhat off, with weather triggers from Mars late in Virgo, to watery Neptune and that troublesome weather star Scheat, Then a welcome to Sunday and Monday whose upbeat Sagittarius moon with a Leo Sun changes the scene and screen. Turn off the news off and get that barbecue fired up! Friends coming over?
A slight bump or news break hits Tuesday whose moon in early Capricorn sends a warning in a T square to Mars with Saturn Neptune.
August 7th Another interesting mention is that having Pluto in freedom loving Aquarius so impactful with Uranus’s voice finally allowed to speak out in early Gemini will give us a peak into what mid 2026 has in store for us. The meeting point of those two usually invites calls for freedom, and right now set up with terrific audio thanks to that Mars engine. Are we back in the 1960’s? Not exactly, since this blend in early air and fire matches matches right up with the new Yuga, or time period suggested by the ancient Hindu time cycles into which we have now entered. A new wave, or just call it the New World.
August 8th Here we’ll see some interesting and intense days with a combo of both harsh speak and even heart love aspects. Does that sound crazy? Let’s see. First off, with all the intensity of these days in having the information god Mercury in grit filed Leo opposing Pluto in freedom loving Aquarius, may reveal secrets and information kept verboten until now.
Then with Mars right on the Sun in the US constitution chart, September 24,1789, and in opposition to Saturn Neptune in 1 Aries, underlines a challenge to the rule of law. The last time this identical aspect happened, January 12, 1997, the House of representatives disciplined Newt Gingrich for ethics violations. A lot is happening don’t we know.
AUGUST 9 -10th Probably the most significant time of the month has now arrived, under this powerful super moon (12:55 am pdt)on the 9th in Aquarius, ta sign that doesn’t waste any time. The Aquarian message and intention is always to get right to the core and the essence of what matters. It’s not an easy solar lunar moment due to some disagreement with 3 asteroids, Pallas, Juno and Vesta, in Scorpio. Having a birth sun in Ashlesha is a fairly optimistic part of Aquarius so we’ll have to see how this goes. A note of caution for these same 9 – 10th birthdates of May, November, August and February
Back to the communication guru, we have Mercury moving into direct motion, and it will stay at 4 Leo for many days thus emphasizing its mission, same for where ever those early fire and air degrees land in your own charts. I don’t get too worked up over Mercury’s direct or retro motion, since it happens about three times a year. I’m only a little more curious in its set up with the other planets in case they’re not too favorable for whatever it is I’m planning.
AUGUST 12- 14th Here we’ve come to another interesting point of the month. Venus and Jupiter having just slid over into 14 Cancer, all affectionate and moony, pretty nice for those July, November, January and March birthdays same dates. Of course those degrees will also conjunct the fixed star Sirius, which is rather serious since it’s powerful and connects exactly to our own USA birthday Sun on July 4th. This aspect to our Sun in its natal square to Saturn, just repeats the zeitgeist of our mindset in the 1776 revolt against England ’s King George. I think you can see what this aspect is saying present time.
AUGUST 17 -19th In contrast to the past few days, , today’s moon in Gemini lights up the sky in a much better way, lined up as it is in harmony to Chiron and Eris. The bonding of this astro geometry should set the table for what can turn out be some pretty jolly times for action, networking, and adventuring? Why not.
AUGUST 23d Today’s new moon in 0-1 Virgo (2:07 am pdt) arrives in a rarely seen astro configuration known as a Yod, or “finger of god”. It’s a complicated even thought to be “fated” With Pluto, Saturn and Neptune, all in supportive sextiles to each other, yet forming two 150 degree aspects or quincunxes, to the new moon, then adding that slam from Uranus will all be quite something to digest. Voices, stringent and reactionary more than likely will speak out. The rarely seen Yod is attributed to parts of a chart, challenge an astrologer to see what needs to be worked out to achieve some sort of balance and compromise in an individual’s life and purpose. The close location of this new moon package to the fixed star of kingship, Regulus, at 29 Leo leads me to examine charts of certain rulers.
The full moon of the 9th affected King Charles’ November 14, 1948 chart and life in a heavy and say it, dangerous way. Then our own president’s ascendant in very late Leo with Regulus to this new moon, sheds some unpleasant aspects to his health and self. The vedic take on this new moon in the sub sign of Magha, describes a kingly type who also knows he is the servant of the people and acts accordingly. With all these conflicting aspects it does looks like trouble brewing up for someone somewhere. Meanwhile these August, and February 21 to 24th birthdays need to use some caution, although we know that charts vary with their many descriptions and meanings.
These last days of the month bring out a calmer side with very little to distract other than some mashed up chicken casserole in the news. More on all of that to come with early September’s lunar eclipse of the 7th. And now something usual.
AUGUST 31st – September 2nd A nice ending to a fractious month? Yep, it’s a friendly fiery trinity lined up with a moon in Sagittarius, Mercury in Leo and that unusual conjunction of Chiron with Eris’ in Aries to pump up the action! Can we even say there’s a light in the den or is it for the pen- itentiary? Coincidentally, we’ll be celebrating Labor Day this weekend, with its traditional respect for all the workers. If hope looks to be on the horizon for even 3 days, we’ll take it.

BIRTHDAYS OF NOTE: The following birthdays are based on the very close degrees of the Sun if closely aspected present month. I don’t generalize on a large swath of 1- 30 dates for which I could never be specific, but Sun Sign astrology can be entertaining and financially successful.
Normally a true birth time will provide an accurate rising sign and degree of the moon. Call these the Three Majors. Then we can begin to talk true astrology. The Sun is still very significant for it represents the soul’s manifestation in the outer world, even health issues and then the house position gets even more specific. AUGUST 8 -10th A rather rocky birthday moment for some of you Leo’s, all of course depending on your natal chart aspects. Now the cheerful part is about action and energy fueling your tanks as in yourselves. And having Venus stationed right with this lunar event is great! Full moon birthday solar returns usually speak to a year of excitement, let’s hope it’ll be the positive kind!
AUGUST 17- 20th Right here, 17th and 18th days, have g your birthday Suns with a moon in Gemini couldn’t be better. For 19 and 20th, the Pisces moon on those birthdays are held upon by points of karma with other support as well. Now I can hardly contain myself to explain the biggest aspect of all, which will support and shine over your lives for many months to follow. Chiron and Eris, asteroids and gods, all in great geometry for you over in Aries, fire to fire .
AUGUST 22 -23d A little careful here early Virgoans. This very rare formation of a Yod, or finger of god, at the time of this new moon to your Suns suggests going into a deep inner conversation about who and what you are meant to do and be. The year ahead looks like it will be bringing up interesting thoughts and decisions, almost spiritual in nature.
SEPTEMBER 3- 11th An unusually wide pod for me to mention, however, Venus and Jupiter see it differently and they will be your best pals for much of even the first 23 days of the month !Now the later days, 6- 11th even have a close part of karmic support from several players. Not too bad guys !
SEPTEMBER 18 -22nd Don’t be surprise if you are overwhelmed with certain details very early August first week. Trip plans ? Your ignition is being pushed pretty hard is all. Sept 5th hardest day but it goes. The nice part comes later month say the 22 to the 26th.
SEPTEMBER 23- 25th Something is in the wind for you . The early days 8-10th August, bring Mars over your heads, opposing Saturn and Neptune. That could be weird but the better part is Uranus now in perfect trine to your Suns with Mars! How do you spell electric? Exciting, novel, and new! Whatever is brewing with in you! Do it!
OCTOBER 1- 5th The first few days of the month may feel like a STOP sign was planted on your driveway , then your brake lights are flashing orange. It goes away not too long after when Mercury and Pallas come to fix all of it. Then it gets even better by the 23d when Mars comes in to charge your fuel tank and take you to your gym class.
OCTOBER 8 -10th now the Full moon same dates should bring a nice even exciting time for you . Wild for some but ok for you. A bit of caution later month when Jupiter drops a bit of frustration into your mailbox in spite of Mercury’s helpful messages.
OCTOBER 17 -19th That wounded healer guy Chiron, floating opposite your Suns is a bit annoying and the only dates to be careful would be around the 17 – 24th. But it’s not severe, just a bump or 2.
OCT0BER 20 -23d All of you earlyScorpios be careful for several months with Pluto squaring your Suns, meaning that you’ve been in for a life change and you’ve probably have known it for sometime. You have other planets and aspects in your charts that would tell the complete story.
NOVEMBER 1- 7th for much of the month, and most especially from the 10th to 22nd, you have best pals called Venus and Jupiter bringing you flowers and and happy connection moments. August 3d has a special message for you
NOVEMBER 8 – 10th Seriously for these birthdates, watch out around the full moon same dates, its rocky and even wild. So stay safe. Best times arrive with Venus aligned to your Suns, added to Pallas, Juno and the parts of fate and destiny, say from 15 to 20th. This is a really big month for you! Even life changing with a good ending!
NOVEMBER 20 -23d This is really exciting! The lineup in air and fire to you sparks something new and exciting and creative! Yay for you! Saturn Neptune, Pluto and even Uranus your new pals!
NOVEMBER 27 – DECEMBER 4th Lucky for you is the long upbeat run of communication and energy from the 6 to the 26th of the month! Wow a long run! Thanks to Mercury and Mars!
DECEMBER 8- 10th Well best to stay centered during these same days under that super full moon. It’s not a negative for you it just means a burst of energy to use carefully. See?
DECEMBER 22 – 26th For these early Caps, most important is to to watch all around you, be thoughtful stay centered, with that trio of Sat and Neptune in 1 Aries sq to your Sun, and then Mars at 1 Libra, all around the 8th -11th. the Aries piece goes on for a while, but the hardest is on these dates and it’s short!
DECEMBER 27 – JANUARY 5th What fun to have this long run of Mercury and libra in early air and fire to add communication and vibrancy to you from the early week to like the 23d!
JANUARY 9 -12th The most interesting piece is how those parts of fate and destiny are riding along with you with Venus and Juno! hello and support for your plans and life! Pretty nice!
JANUARY 17 – 20th For several weeks now you must be very cautious due to this unique block from Chiron and Eris. It’s maybe a 3 month aspect , a life changer but you will have the softening help moving into August from Juno and Vesta. And! Having Pluto over your Suns, trine to Uranus, sextile the duo in early Aries is terrific for your creative self!
JANUARY 23 – February 7th..What fun run for all of you to have such an energy drive from Mars. Now earlier dates like later January, will feel it sooner, around the 7-9th, then moving along the following dates get the vibe on into the Feb birthday degrees.
FEBRUARY 8 -10th Ok! This full moon in Aquarius lands close to on your birthday’s Sun degrees! So it’s a big time of something opening up for you! Then later this month into September you’ll have Mars to drive your truck and take you to the gym. Some slight blockage from Vesta and Juno but Mars can deal with that later in to next month. . Stay calm during the full moon, they’re always hyper charged when on your exact Suns! Any positive natal aspects in your charts will be heralded as well.
FEBRUARY 17 – 20th Amazing energy coming your way from this very rare once in 50 year aspect from Chiron with Eris, the female Mars.Thankfully its positive and rare, plants use it!
FEBRUARY 22- 24th The new moon on these dates is a bit whoppish for you, so just hang tight, ignore those scam calls. Better days follow in later September when Mars enters Scorpio.
MARCH 5 -9th How fortunate for you to have the that great aspect just 2 days after the Full moon, in your favor. Call it like best friends! Mars and Saturn holding you up to the sky! Celebrate!! It’s a gift!
MARCH 10 -13th Mid to later month on you have fun ride with Mars, Venus, Vesta and Juno!! All about your soul and self! It’s great! And huge! I love it! Publish that book!
MARCH 21- 25th Ok this a huge time for these birthday Suns. Why is that ? Well, to have both Saturn and Neptune crossing your life and Self, and arranged perfectly by Pluto and Uranus, is just incredible! How will you take advantage of this, and use it! This combo hasn’t ever happened in recorded astronomy history even back zillions of years. Only difficult but brief moment would be close to the full moon of the 8-9th and new moon of the 23d. You’re making history my friend.. birthdays 23-25 a bit later but the aura is there now!
APRIL 5 – 10th That mid month duo of Venus an Jupiter square in same degrees of Cancer to your Suns isn’t much fun just now. But! the good part arrives with asteroids Cere and Pallas Athena so your sky will get brighter.
APRIL 16- 19th Well as was mentioned earlier, you are in a very incredible space in time to have that duo of Chiron and Eris, the sister of Mars, directly overhead for a few months and not aspected in any harsh way right here, is a gift of something just amazing opening up in your inner soul and self!
APRIL 22 -24th Well the late month’s new moon in earthy Virgo really likes your early Taurean selves. The burp from Pluto is wide. Early month’s first 3 days really like you a lot, so have a fun weekend!
MAY 9 – 12th Mid month that great team of Jupiter and Venus in Cancer sends love over to your garden and even you! But careful very close to the 7-10th the full moon in Aquarius is rather intense and even upsetting, so stay quiet, no adventuring. Another bump would be withMars entering Libra to argue with Saturn and Neptune these same dates.
MAY 21 -23d From the first of August to the 11th, You’ll have a great fixer called Mars adding to your energy and excitement better than any drug. Oh add to this that amazing line up in early Aries of Saturn, Neptune, Pluto and Uranus to your soul and self! Strength and creativity. Time for a new project. Sleep or turn off the news around late August’s new moon.
MAY 27 – JUNE 4th Well thanks to Mercury and Mars you will be able to take advantage of Mercury’s iPad and passwords, to connect with AI? Or else just connecting with friends. And then Mars will arrive with a new Lulu Lemon gym outfit, to energize your actions . Those usable dates run from the 6- 23d of the month! lucky you.
JUNE 7- 10th, Well that full moon in Leo and Aquarius on the 8-9th is ok for you, and even adds a spark of excitement . Then, later month into early September, Mars reignites upbeat energy. And even Mercury sends you some nicer news that last week.
JUNE 17 -19th Big Surprise heading your way with a very rare aspect and sextile, known as gifts from the universe. The only once every 50 year meet up of Chiron and Eris together, is now aligned to your Suns at 60 degrees, for a couple of months. This is a big deal!
JUNE 21- 24th Later month’s new moon in Virgo is not really very friendly but it’s short. Take a break right there is the best plan. You have other aspects and the first 4 days of the month like you a lot! Now just around the 10th hard aspects. don’t sign a thing.
JULY 4- 6th You have such a nice surprise right around the corner 10 -14th of this month when Jupiter and Venus decide to give you a gift of some thing wonderful even heart opening!
JULY 16 – 19th A little concerning would be this direct block from the two asteroids Chiron and Eris to your selves, something not working out quite right not yet. Right around the new moon days of the 23d, a bit of a bump, short one though. You do have other aspects and angles in your chart, and by late October into November, Jupiter and Mars will bring you to a higher place.
JULY 23- 26th This early month’s standstill of Mercury over your Suns is ok given the trine from Uranus, because you have a strong wingman helping you to get out that message! Go for it!
